On July 13-14, 2023, the XI International Judicial and Legal Forum was held in the capital. The speakers were well-known figures of the judicial branch of government and specialists in legal practice. During the event, the issues of urgent systemic problems of the functioning of courts in Ukraine were raised, in particular their work in the conditions of war, restoration of the work of courts in the de-occupied territories, European integration challenges facing the judicial branch, etc.
AO ALARIUS team visited the forum and joined the discussion with colleagues. In particular, Viktor Surnyk, Managing Partner of ALARIUS, supported the discussion on Ukraine's European integration processes, in which he suggested that such processes are being accelerated due to the increase in the number of cases in the VAX. In response, Inna Bilous, Judge Speaker of the High Anti-Corruption Court, noted that if the number of cases increases, therefore, the number of detected alleged corruption offenses increases, which certainly indicates Ukraine's compliance with the European integration vector and has a positive effect on the development of anti-corruption struggle.
In its work, ALARIUS fully supports the implementation of the law of the European Union in the legislation of Ukraine, in particular in the fight against corruption. We support business by assessing corruption risks in a particular organization, developing a plan of measures for the implementation of a system of anti-corruption tools, analyzing the document flow system for compliance with the requirements of standards. After all, we believe that Ukrainian business should be transparent and open, have an unhindered opportunity for development, supported by state support.
Participation in the XI International Judicial Law Forum provided an opportunity to learn firsthand about the breakthroughs and problems of the judicial industry, to share experiences with colleagues and to make sure that the legal community does not stop in its development even in such difficult times. We thank the organizers — Yuridicheskaya Praktika Publishing House and the High Council of Justice — for a meaningful and professional event.
